Dear Sister,
If you are feeling defeated today, pray these verses into your heart:
*I am more than a conqueror through him who loved me (Rom 8:37). *For the LORD my God is the one who goes with me to fight for me against my enemies to give me victory (Deut 20:4). * For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him (2 Chron 16:9a) * If God is for me, who can be against me (Rom 8:31b)? * This is what the LORD says to me: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not mine, but God’s (2 Chron 20:15b). * No weapon forged against me will prevail, and I will refute every tongue that accuses me. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is my vindication from the LORD (Isa 54:17).
For an interesting victory story, read what happened to Judah’s King Jehoshaphat when three armies made their way to make war with Judah. Check out what he led his people to do: inquired of the Lord and fasted (v3), the people united and came together to seek help from the Lord (v4), praised God and reminded themselves of God’s past faithfulness (v6), surrendered to the Lord’s response whether or not it would involve calamity; trusted that the Lord would hear and save them (v9), admitted their powerlessness to face the vast army and looked to God for his help (v12), King Jehoshaphat humbled himself and worshipped God which the people followed (v20) he reminded his people to have faith in God (v20), he appointed men to sing praises to the Lord (v21).
As they began to praise God by faith BEFORE their prayers were favorably answered, here came God’s answer: the three armies who were all opposed to Judah annihilated one another, sparing Judah completely. (vv22-23) As a bonus, there was so much plunder for Judah that took three days to collect. (v25)
Victory is won ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty. (Zech 4:6b) The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2Cor 10:4)
Dear Lord, your ways are higher than our ways. Sometimes your ways don’t make sense to us but we trust that you know all things and are working on our behalf to give us victory. Please remind us not to rely on our limited flesh but to rely on your limitless, almighty, all-knowing, ever-present Holy Spirit for your victory in our lives for your glory in Jesus’s name amen.
