Today’s YouVersion Verse of the Day:
Ephesians 4:26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
According to the verse, it is possible to be angry without sinning. But anger can be the devil’s foothold if allowed to brew.
Sunset today is at 18:02. That’s my deadline to cast all negative feelings unto God for what will happen today. By the time the sun has gone down, I should tell God all I’m angry about and let Him deal with it or He will deal with me.
Keeping the anger is what gives the devil a foothold. David Guzik says:
The devil’s work is to accuse and divide the family of God, and to sow discord among them. When we harbor anger in our heart, we do the devil’s work for him. The name devil literally means “slanderer.” Paul may be saying that when we hold on to our anger, creating bitterness, we give place to the slanderer – either because we become one or because we provoke their slander.
Lord please help me by Your Holy Spirit to let go of all anger in Jesus’s name amen.
