Has bad news discouraged you?
Today’s YouVersion verse: This passage declares that there is a future glorious thing Jesus will do that we won’t be able keep ourselves from praising Him about in a grand scale. We will be so compelled to enjoin others in praising Him.
“In that day”… when that time comes…when that day comes…………Wait for it.
It’s not yet time to eat the marshmallow. Patience, endurance, perseverance, character, hope are being built up.
He isn’t done yet.
He is at work.
When Jesus returns and reigns, there will be peace, order, transformation (talked about in the preceding chapter, Isaiah 11).
But even before that happens, we can already praise Him for what He has already done… He died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day— in essence The Gospel, literally meaning “Good News” which changes life… When we believe, what Jesus did cleans up our past, enlightens enlivens and empowers our present, and ascertains our future.
He will physically return and reign; yet even now when I return to Him as my first love, as I remember once more His ridiculous amazing unconditional passionate eternal sacrificial faithful perfect love for me, and allow Him to return and rule in my heart as the Lord of my life, “that day” is now.
I praise You Lord for who You are and what You have done. You who are seated far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion who are in very nature God yet made yourself nothing taking the very nature of servant, humbled yourself, obedient even to death on the cross for me even when I didn’t care about You and didn’t know who You are. I stand amazed in awe of Your love. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins so that I may have eternal life.
