Josh McDowell shared his traumatic childhood journey that led to bitterness in adulthood. In university where he was “wounded, angry, and totally dysfunctional,” he accepted a challenge by a Christian to research on Jesus Christ being the Messiah and Son of God. That led him to write his bestselling book, “Evidence That Demands a Verdict.” The definitive evidence that intellectually convinced him of who Jesus was did not change him; he thought, “Jesus is not part of my future.”
The Two Things that eventually changed him:
1 love relationship Christians had with each other
2 God’s love for him. “I’ve loved you with an everlasting love.”
Both point to the importance of relationships. He also shared research results on the astounding positive impact of good relationships with fathers (not mothers) on how children turn out.
Tomorrow, he will be teaching on how to develop relationships.
