Two bestselling Christian authors, Marlene Legaspi-Munar and Malu Tiongson-Ortiz, led an inspiring workshop for aspiring book authors yesterday at Karen’s Kitchen Kapitolyo. They shared their beginnings, challenges, experiences, victories for the Lord in their journeys as book writers as well as tips and encouragement for the participants.
Marlene was always exposed to books, loved writing, took up Communications (in Ateneo), wrote articles for magazines, textbooks, and other varied work as a writer. Malu who is a UST Interior Design graduate, [slash]/painter, teacher, artist, makeup artist, photographer, never considered herself as a writer. One day, she went to an OMF bookstore table to look for a book to help her during her early years struggling with the Down Syndrome condition of her beloved daughter, Clarissa. She couldn’t find any; the lady manning the bookstore told her, “Why don’t you write that book?” And she did!
