Do Not Be Anxious

Phil 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

This verse is a command not to be anxious about anything. Everything is to be turned into a prayer with thanksgiving. Nothing too trivial. Nothing too impossible. God commands us to lift up everything to Him. He cares about everything we care about.

Why with thanksgiving? The attitude of thanksgiving has an expectation that God will respond to this prayer with holy intentions that are best for us. There is a trust that He knows how to respond. His response is based on who He is:

Eph 3:20 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

Not only is He able. He is able to do more than all we ask or imagine. Not only that, He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Not only that, His power is at work within us!

The accompanying promise that comes with the command not to be anxious:
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The peace of God beyond all comprehension will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus! From anxiety to peace of heart and mind! What a wonderful trade!
