Hokkaidō Kaitaku no Mura is one of the best places to visit near Sapporo where you can get a feel of old Japan, Meiji and Taisho periods through a beautiful nature walk. I first visited here last summer with glorious flowers embellishing the path and a trolley train traversing the main road. I still feel the same way today:
“One of the most elaborate and relatable interactive museums on Japanese culture and history I’ve been to is Historical Village, Hokkaido. It is an expansive open-air museum that contains sixty typical buildings from the Meiji and Taisho periods from different parts of Hokkaido.” – From my Summer Visit here
That time, the beloved and I even got to indulge in forest-bathing!
This time, the freezing weather was a challenge but we still got to enjoy here on this day. Again, I agree with those who say there is no such thing as too cold weather, only the wrong clothing. Hope you will check the weather forecast on the day of your visit, including the right footwear for walking this site rich with history and culture.
