The times when I am keenly aware that I am weak, limited, and helpless are the times when I am intentional about seeking God for direction and strength. Figuratively on my knees, I await His cues and keep asking His Holy Spirit to lead me. Those are the times when I am most prone to doing His will and being victorious because I rely not on myself but on God.
David knew that his victory wouldn’t come from his ability, instrument, or self, but on God’s grace. 6 I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; 7 but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame (Psalm 44:6-7). So I consider weakness a victory gift in camouflage. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me (2Cor 12:9). That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions,in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2Cor 12:10).
Dear Friend, if today you feel weak amidst your circumstances, be encouraged that the Lord is with you and now more than any other time, His strength will be made perfect in your life. You will come to know Him in a deeper way.
