Am I A True Lover?

At yesterday’s event, Deonna Tanchi shared this with us:

Love is an unconditional commitment

To an imperfect person

For their highest good

Which often requires sacrifice.

True Love which Jesus demonstrated to us first was when He gave His life to us even when we were opposed to Him.  If Jesus waited until we were perfect to love us, then that time would never come.  If we know our calling is to love even the unlovable who behave as enemies, that means all the more we should love those who are considered our family and friends and employees.

1 John 4:20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

Lord, please help me to be more like Jesus, to be a person from whom Your love flows for

If I don’t love, I speak nothing

1Cor 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I don’t love, I am nothing.

1Cor 13: 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

If I don’t love, I gain nothing.

1Cor 13:3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Lord, please show me in what ways I am unloving and empower me by Your Holy Spirit to love not in words but in action.

Thank You, Deonna Tanchi and Aggie Sarthou for your sharings.
