“That’s All” by Dr. Glenn Obligacion

It’s always a huge blessing to be around people who love the Lord.  Peter and Annabelle graciously  filled the room thus!  One of the wonderful guests we had the privilege to hear was Pastor Glenn (son of the late actor, Oscar Obligacion).

Several years ago, Pastor Glenn and his lovely wife, Ate Ellen, were in the same bus-accountability group in the Holy Land Tour as my two sons and me when they were about seven and nine years old. Every day, they were among the people who gave my sons treats like peanuts and other snacks from their baon bag. Such sweet acts of kindness that I hope my children will remember.

This evening, Pastor Glenn shared how one day, a regular song on the car radio just when he was about to enter The Medical City building became a sweet moment with the Lord as the lyrics spoke to him line by line like the message of Jesus Christ:

His love is eternal, omnipresent, responsive, faithful, through life seasons, passionate, warm.  He was reminded of Satan’s temptation for Jesus to give Him the world. The arms of Jesus that enfold with undying indestructible incorruptible love are the same arms that were crucified on the cross for the forgiveness of his (all our) sins. Yet, His demands are small: a heart that adores Him forever.

THAT’S ALL (Tharpe, Rosetta)

I can only give you love that lasts forever
And a promise to be near each time you call
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone
That’s all, that’s all

I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall
And a love whose burning light
Will warm the winter night
That’s all, that’s all

There are those, I am sure, that have told you
They would give you the world for a toy
All I have are these arms to enfold you
And a love time can never destroy

If you’re wondering what I’m asking in return, dear
You’ll be glad to know that my demands are small
Say it’s me that you’ll adore
For now and ever more
That’s all, that’s all

There were other beautiful musical numbers too but unfortunately I wasn’t able to record them because my phone camera was engaged as the source of Minus One. Pastor Glenn was the only one who had his own own Minus One on his own phone enabling my phone to be a camera!:)
