Victoria and Vancouver are such beautiful cities. A mere stroll across four days within a very small radius provides a feast for the eyes and senses. This is a sampling of the landscape, architecture, sights, and vibe. Apart from God’s beautiful creation, it cost someone to pay for the buildings, plants, labor. But it’s free for the people who decide to stroll and view them!:)

“May this sculpture inspire laughter playfulness and joy in all who experience it.”

To participate in the vibe of these beautiful places and spaces is free. We just had to walk through! How special it is when something that didn’t cost us anything is free for us to enjoy. Don’t we love free gifts?
God’s Word speaks of a free gift too!
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Salvation is free (by grace/ unmerited favor; gift of God; not by works, not from ourselves). It is free for us but Someone paid the price to redeem us. Jesus paid with His life for the wages of our sin. When He said, “It is finished.” on the cross, the original term was “Tetelastai” meaning “Paid in Full“.
Salvation is not by works. It is through faith in the sufficiency of Jesus’s death for the forgiveness of our sins. Because we are sinners, God knew we could not obtain His standard of righteousness by obeying the law. For if we could obtain righteousness on our own effort, Jesus did not have to die.
The good works/ the choosing to do good, and to choose not to remain in a lifestyle of sin (although we may stumble from time to time while on this side of heaven) is not the means to get saved but the evidence of being saved. We were created specifically with our individual “shapes” and skills and abilities to do good works, to desire God’s will. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Thank You, Jesus, for Your free gift of salvation through faith.
A- I admit I am a sinner
B- I believe You died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins.
C- I confess You as my personal Savior and Lord.
Thank You for dying on the cross to pay the debt of my sins so that I can be redeemed and forgiven. I receive You into my heart freely to be my personal Savior and Lord. Help me to be the person You want me to be.
