“As is” is a term used to describe a sales transaction in which the seller offers goods in their present, existing condition to prospective buyers. The term gives notice to buyers that they are taking a risk on the quality of the goods. The buyer is free to inspect the goods before purchase; but if any hidden defects are discovered after purchase, the buyer has no recourse against the seller.
God purchased us as is with the blood of Jesus Christ. Revelations 5:9b says: And they sang a new song: “and with your blood you purchased men for God”
Hebrews 13:5b says God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” That guarantee is in place regardless of whatever hidden defects arise. That is unconditional love. Faithful even when we are faithless (2Tim 2:13).
We are loved as is yet God loves us too much to want us to remain as is. He is willing to work with us day by day to transform us until we are restored and renewed according to His holy and great plan. He believes that you and I can be transformed more than we believe it. He sees us not only in our current state but in what we can become in His hands. He is rooting for you and me.
2Cor 5:17 says 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation.
Lord, thank You for Your faithful, eternal, unconditional love that takes us for who we are. Thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit to transform us to be the persons You want us to become in Jesus’s name amen.
